Come meet our llamas at a nearby trailhead for a guided nature tour, explore the Appalachian backcountry on a multi-day trek, or visit our little llama farm & sanctuary to learn about what we do here!

Llama Trekking

We run guided llama walks and trekking expeditions every weekend, all year round. Llamas have been trekking for approximately 6000 years in South America. We will learn about llamas, Hot Springs, and the local ecosystem.

Come relax with your own personal fuzzy friend…and obtain the ultimate llama selfie!

Llama Sanctuary

Llamas of Hot Springs aims to provide a permanent home for any llama in need. We seek to provide ongoing care, food, appropriate habitat, behavioral training and veterinary aid where required. We work with local community groups and schools to educate and promote awareness of llamas.

LoHS works with the Southeast Llama Rescue and is a member of the Southern States Llama Association and CameliDynamics.

What’s all the hum about?

Alright, I know what you are thinking. “Hiking with Llamas sounds ridiculous.” I too shared in your opinion and boy was I wrong! ... This was truly the experience of a lifetime. These creatures basically walk themselves alongside you as David gives you the history of the trail, the area, Llamas vs. Alpacas and much more. If you have the time, I suggest taking the longest hike he has because it was so peaceful, amazing and therapeutic. We are so thankful for David and this experience and I hope that many more enjoy it as well.

We had such a wonderful time on the llama hike. David was wonderful and provided information about camelids and the beautiful area we hiked in. I highly recommend this very unique experience. It was a lot of fun.
